Chris Bumstead: The Undisputed King of Classic Physique

By Steve Blechman

At the last Olympia Weekend, no other man in any of the four men’s competitive divisions was as dominant as Chis Bumstead in capturing his fourth consecutive Classic Physique Olympia title. Still just 27 years old at the time, he was chiseled to perfection at 6-foot-1 and 240 pounds. It was a notable improvement over what he’d shown in his third win a year prior, and perhaps some of that can be attributed to Chris teaming up in 2022 with Hany Rambod, who presently owns the greatest Olympia track record of any coach in the industry with an astonishing 22 wins in various divisions. You can argue about who the best Open or 212 bodybuilder today is, but when it comes to Classic, only a fool would argue that Chris is not the king, and we are honored to feature him on the cover of this month’s Muscular Development.

As blessed as many feel Chris is, his win did not come without obstacles, as he suffered a minor biceps tear just days before taking the stage in Las Vegas. In “Chris Bumstead: The Undisputed King of Classic Physique,” Ron Harris takes us through C-Bum’s road to win number four, one which secures his reign as a legitimate dynasty that shows no signs of coming to an end in the near future. Chris is not only the most popular bodybuilder alive today in terms of his social media numbers, but he’s also on track to make his mark in history as the greatest Classic Physique pro that ever struck a pose. Stay tuned, Chris recently said he’s considering doing an Open pro show.

When Ramon Rocha Queiroz placed in the top five at the2021 Mr. Olympia, it was clear to many he was a star in the making. Ramon had beautiful shape and structure emphasized by capped delts, round and full arms, and a tiny waist. His stock shot through the ceiling in the 2022 season as he finished runner-up at both the Arnold Classic and the Mr. Olympia. Get to know the Brazilian sensation the world knows as Ramon Dino in“Ramon Dino – Brazilian Classic Physique Superstar.”

Urs Kalecinski is one of the top Classic Physique pros competing today. Known as “The Miracle Bear,” Urs was only 22 when he won his first pro show, the 2021 Tampa Pro, and last year won the Boston Pro and placed third at the Classic Physique Olympia behind Chris Bumstead and Ramon Dino. “He is already top three in the world and the conditioning that he actually has throughout every show he has done is off the charts,” Milos Sarcev commented. Giles Thomas asked Milos and other industry experts what they think of The Miracle Bear in “Urs Kalecinski: Classic German Engineering.”

Vigorous Steve is one of the most popular coaches on social media today. He has provided coaching and other personalized services to over 1,000 individuals over the span of 15 years. These days, he does little one-on-one coaching and focuses instead on uploading short, no-nonsense video clips on highly specific topics surrounding anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) and other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) directed at maximizing anabolic gains while reducing harmful effects. Rick Collins, Esq. interviewed Steve after spending some time together at the 2022 Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas and got an earful for MD readers in “Vigorous Steve: The Man Who Dethroned the Liver King.”
