Urs Kalecinski: 24-Year-Old Classic Physique Sensation

By Steve Blechman

The Classic Physique division is still in its early stages compared to the other men’s competitive categories, but already it has spawned several superstars. One of the newest is the man on this month’s cover, Germany’s Urs Kalecinski, who is known to his fans the world over as “The Miracle Bear.” Going into 2022, he already had a pro win and a top-four finish at the Olympia. In March, he followed that up with a third spot at the Arnold Classic, then back-to-back wins at the Boston Pro and Kuwait Pro.

“The goal is to have perfect balance and proportion, that’s what a Classic Physique is to me,” the Classic Physique star and VAYU athlete tells MD this month. Ron Harris caught up with Urs to check in on his off-season progress and discuss his growing fame, which has been rather sudden and has happened under the guidance of Stefan Kienzl, Urs’ coach and Vayu Senior Executive Consultant, in “A Miraculous Addition to Classic: Urs ‘The Miracle Bear’ Kalecinski Is Headed to the Top.”

The Classic Physique Division was introduced in 2016, but the ideals of shape, proportion and symmetry never went off the radar of bodybuilding. The ideal Classic physique is one where no particular body part stands out from the rest because all the muscle groups have been developed in proportion to the rest. Many lifters want to keep it classic rather than get huge, and MD outlines the strategies for you to craft the most aesthetic physique you can in “Keep It Classic! How to Build Your Most Aesthetic Physique.”

Several men have attempted to cross over from Men’s Physique to Classic Physique, but Logan Franklin’s journey has been one of the more notable success stories. We’ve watched him work his way up the ranks and improve both his physique and posing prowess tremendously. At the 2021 Arnold Classic, this GAT Sport athlete beat out the reigning King of Posing, Terrence Ruffin, for the Best Poser award. “I feel like I’m finally in tune with my physique and I know I have what it takes to go all the way with this. That belief is what’s going to carry me,” Logan tells us this month.

MD spoke with Logan about what he’s been up to, life as a family man, and why his best is yet to come in “Classic Stealth Mode! Logan Franklin Is Working Hard in Silence to Win the Classic Physique Olympia.”

21-inch arms are the holy grail of bodybuilding. Whether you aspire to become Mr. Olympia one day, or have no intentions of getting any closer to a large audience than the crowds at the beach, huge, round biceps and thick, hanging triceps are a prized possession to proudly show off. No matter what your arms look like now, they are not finished growing yet. They are a work in progress, and it’s up to you to force them to grow through intelligent strategy and pure hard work. While only a chosen few ever reach or surpass the 21-inch arm mark, give yourself the best possible chance of achieving this elite status by checking out “21 Tips for 21-inch Arms.”
