I was so psyched about this month’s cover of MD, which has the exclusive story of four-time Mr. Olympia Champion Jay Cutler’s plans to once again regain the Sandow, that I sent Jay a text of the cover before the issue went to print. “Sick cover,” Jay texted me back. That made me feel great, as I have the utmost respect for Jay and his opinion means a lot. Jay is one of the toughest, hardest working and most determined competitors the sport has ever known. I am proud to have him as part of our great team of Olympians such as Lee Haney, Ronnie Coleman, Dorian Yates, and Dexter Jackson.

Battling his good friend Phil Heath and snatching the Sandow from Phil won’t be easy, but if anyone can do it, Jay can – because he has the drive and work ethic to do anything. Jay is a great ambassador of our sport because of his iron –willed focus to get the job done, the longevity and excellence of his career, and his professional way that he conducts himself whether he’s the winner or congratulating the champ.

Jay Cutler is a mighty underdog who likes to prove the doubters wrong. Jay did that in 2009, when he became the only Mr. Olympia in history to reclaim the Sandow after losing it to Dexter Jackson. Jay aims to do it again, as he tells Peter McGough in “I’ll Take The Fifth!,” an exclusive interview! After sitting out 2012, Jay reveals why he will definitely add to his collection of four Sandows and defeat Phil Heath at this year’s Mr. Olympia contest. “I’m out to make the impossible possible.” Jay says.

Antoine

Antoine Vaillant's Ultimate Abs

Also in the next issue Canada’s Antoine Vaillant . A genetic freak with shape and symmetry that’s reminiscent of the 70’s bodybuilders like Franco Columbu or Frank Zane – a powerful yet aesthetic physique, with broad shoulders, flaring quads and a rock-hard, lean midsection. The 20-something 2012 CBBF Canadian Super Heavyweight and Overall Champion sports a mean and well-defined six-pack, and in “Antoine Vaillant’s Ultimate Ab Program,” Antoine shares with MD readers everything he knows about ab training.

Big Arm Blasting with DelarosaJon De La Rosa

For Jonathon De La Rosa, huge biceps are all in the family. His strong work ethic, drive, discipline, and desire, to achieve his goals (like winning the New York Pro) are unquestionable. Jonathan also inherited some crazy arm DNA from his dad, who had legit 20-inch arms and forearms like Popeye when Jonathan was a child. “Whenever I had friends over, they would ask him to flex and he would hit a front double biceps shot – they always freaked out,” Jonathan recalls. In “Gunning for His First Pro Win! Big-arm Blasting with Jon De La Rosa” he gives us a rundown of the exercises that have contributed to his colossal bi’s and tri’s.

Evan-wolf

Double Delt Destruction

Every Mr. Olympia champion has had great delts, because without them you can’t have a V-taper or an X-frame. You simply can’t have a great physique without owning a pair of wide, round, melon delts. MD is proud to have on its team two men know for spectacular shoulders, wide as a doorframe and as thick and round as volleyballs. In “Double Delt Destruction: Dennis Wolf and Evan Centopani Talk Shoulder Smashing,” MD’s shoulder kings talk about developing their mighty shoulder spans that further add to the impressive visual impact of their world-class physiques.

Branch-johnnie

Standing Tall

Legs are the body part that separates the men from the boys. Leg training isn’t for the faint of heart, and you might lose your breakfast before the workout is over. Since we’re talking leg training, we asked two of the biggest badasses in bodybuilding for some tips on how to build massive wheels – and they offer their iron wisdom in “standing Tall: Johnnie Jackson and Branch Warren on the Ultimate Test of Iron Warrior: Leg Training!” Branch is widely considered to have the best lower body in the sport today, and Johnnie’s legs have recently improved matching him rep for rep as they train in the most hardcore of training dungeons, Metroflex Gym.

Rock

Rock Hard

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known worldwide by his legions of fans for being a wrestler and an actor. He’s also a big MD and bodybuilding fan and plays a bodybuilder in his latest film, “Pain & Gain.” Find out how The Rock trained with MD’s George Farah to prepare for subs-100-jaythe role in “Rock Hard – Bodybuilding’s Biggest Fan: How Dwayne Johnson Prepped for “Pain & Gain” and WrestleMania XXIX.”

The rest of the book is packed to the binder as usual – with all the latest cutting-edge research and information on bodybuilding by the industry experts and insiders who make it all happen. See you next month!
