Next MD Cover: 2017 Mr. Olympia Classic Physique Champion: Breon Ansley

Breon Ansely is a bodybuilder who seems to have been born for the Classic Physique division. Since Classic Physique was introduced in early 2016, it has snowballed in popularity as both a fan and an athlete favorite by those who value the ideals of shape, symmetry, aesthetics and proportion that it represents and rewards. With his overall package of shape, proportion and carved-out condition that Michelangelo would be envious of, Breon set the new standard for bodybuilding when he won this year’s Classic Physique Olympia. Breon’s aesthetic and streamlined physique, artful posing and ultra-lean midsection make him the ultimate ambassador for the sport and its future. He is a sterling example of what bodybuilding can transition back into, and become more appealing to the masses.

In “Breon Ansley: A New Generation of Classic Physique” Breon talks to Ron Harris about his win, bubble guts and the bright future of the Classic Physique division. He also talks about why he chose Old School Labs® as his supplement company and what he plans to do for the sport as an OSL® Ambassador. To quote from the article, Breon says, “I didn’t want to be with just any company. And I didn’t want to get lost in the shuffle with a ton of other athletes. That’s why Old School Labs® is the perfect fit for me. I love their products and I use them every day.”

Breon started his prep on December 1st for the 2018 Arnold Classic in the Classic Physique Division. In an online interview with MD’s Ron Harris, he says of being on the cover of MD, “…It’s a blessing. It feels wonderful, and it feels like I’ve arrived. Being on the cover of MD carries a certain prestige for sure. This is my first magazine cover, and I feel it’s only the beginning. But I feel very honored and privileged. I’m very grateful to Steve Blechman, the photographer Jason Ellis, and to Old School Labs®, for making it all possible.” We also discuss how he became a competitor for the Arnold! Whether you compete at 270 on the Olympia stage or in the 212 division, every bodybuilder (or gym rat) wants a pair of shirt-splitting arms. Nathan De asha’s are phenomenal, and his fans have asked to know how he trains them. In “British Firepower! Blasting Guns With Nathan ‘The Prophecy’ De asha,” an athlete for Yamamoto Nutrition, Nathan gives MD his mainstay arm-training movements and describes how he performs them.

Another year has come and gone in this colorful, insane and bizarre sport called bodybuilding. 2017 was chock-full of triumphs, tragedies and typical bodybuilding drama. In “The Top 10 Stories of 2017,” Ron Harris looks back at 10 stories that had the boards blazing.

It’s been quite a year for MHP™ athlete Chris Bumstead, who packs an astounding blend of mass and shape, set off by some of the smallest joints in the IFBB Pro League. In a field of 20 men at this year’s Classic Physique Olympia that included reigning champ Danny Hester and 2016 runner-up Arash Rahbar, Chris beat every man aside from the winner, Breon Ansley. And all at just 22 years old! Find out what’s next for Chris in “Classic Sensation: 22-Year-Old Chris Bumstead Is Classic Physique’s Rookie of the Year.”

On the subject of aesthetics, form and proportions, Team GAT Athlete Angelica Teixeira— 2017 Ms. Bikini Olympia and 2017 Arnold Classic Champion and— has some of the best-looking lines you’ll see anywhere. Check out her photos in this month’s Major Distraction.
