Next MD Issue - 4x Mr. O Jay Cutler's Olympia 2015 Predictions

Four-time Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler is a legend, an all-time great along with Dorian Yates, Ronnie Coleman, Lee Haney and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Jay is an amazing competitor who always placed second or better in all of the contests he entered from 2001 to 2010. Jay practically has his own decade – the era of “King Cutler” that no other competitor has matched in terms of professional achievement. Jay is one of the toughest, hardest working and most determined competitors the sport of bodybuilding has ever known.

Real legends have staying power. Jay is in that elite group – he’s on the cover of MD’s Olympia Preview because of his tremendous fan base that continue to propel his career, and for all that he represents as one of the greatest Mr. Olympia champions that bodybuilding has ever known. The Cutler era was a little more colorful than the world we know today. Jay battled Ronnie for years until he tasted, victory, and Jay became the first Mr. Olympia to reclaim his title after losing it.

Jay is also outstanding for his competitive record, as his career has been distinguished by a level of longevity and excellence that has never been achieved by any other competitor in the history of bodybuilding. Jay is “the” bodybuilder who made the best of inherent genetics, harnessed it with iron willpower and fanatical dedication to beat others more naturally blessed in the DNA stakes. He works his ass off for what he wants, and everything he’s achieved thus far, he’s earned. Jay has the drive and work ethic to do anything. And his success has continued beyond his competitive career, as he launched Cutler Nutrition (cutlernutrition.com) and has teamed with industry giant BPI Sports (bpisports.com).

Equally important, Jay is a class act and a magnificent ambassador for bodybuilding, because of his iron-willed focus to get the job done and the professional way that he conducts himself and his desire to interact with all the fans! Jay Cutler has done more for the sport than anyone else. That’s part of the reason that Jay is on the cover of MD’s Olympia Preview. During his celebrated career, Jay’s blue-collar, Bostonian toughness helped make him one of the most popular bodybuilders of his generation. His good friend Phil Heath has a large fan base, but Phil has some distance to travel before reaching the popularity of the legend who once occupied his throne, an argument that Dan Solomon makes this month in his monthly column “The Voice”.

With so much experience under his belt, on and off the stage, Jay has a wealth of knowledge about the industry. Who better than Jay Cutler to give us the lowdown on all the athletes competing in Las Vegas this September? In “Jay Cutler Rates the 2015 Olympia Field,” the four-time Mr. Olympia champion sits down with MD’s Peter McGough and gives his no-punches-pulled Olympia predictions, and warns that the race for size has become unproductive.

Many people feel that Phil Heath is simply unbeatable at this year’s Mr. Olympia. Such a belief would be self-defeating for Dennis Wolf, or any of the other men who are heading to Las Vegas to win the Mr. Olympia. In “Hungry Like the Wolf! Dennis is Thirsty for Blood.” Dennis concedes that Phil is a great champion with an incredible physique, but he still sees chinks in the Gift’s armor. “In 2013, I think I was really close to beating him,” he says. “That year, I think I probably should have been second. And at the 2014 show, I was very close to him at the finals on Saturday.” The Big Bad Wolf is hungry to win, with a thirst for blood that can only be quenched when a Sandow trophy is in his hands.

In each of the last three Olympias, Phil Heath has been all that has separated Kai from the sport’s most coveted prize, while many have begun to consider the possibility that Kai may be running out of time. In “Kai’s Window of Opportunity,” Dan Solomon looks at the rivalry between Phil Heath and Kai Greene. And a panel of industry experts weighs in on whether 2015 could be Kai’s last legitimate opportunity to win the title.

The Mr. Olympia is the most prestigious contest in our sport, with a pantheon of legends who have held its coveted title since the event’s inception in 1965: Oliva, Schwarzenegger, Zane, Haney, Yates and Coleman, among others. With the 2015 Mr. O just days away, let’s look at the training secrets of some of the top challengers looking to snatch that Sandow from Phil Heath’s grasp this year in “Mass Training Secrets of the Olympians!”

IFBB Bikini Pro Justine Munro is more than just a pretty face (although she has that going for her, too). Justine is one of the industry’s top competitors, most recently placing second at the 2015 Arnold Classic, and up next she’ll be competing in the Olympia. All of these qualities and more have made Justine our pick for Major Distraction this month. Looking hotter than ever.
