The 2012 Olympia is underway and the women’s pre-judging is in the books. Team MD arrived to a huge line wrapped around the Las Vegas Convention Center and we made our way to the stage through the enormous Olympia Expo. It was a grand start and the competition to follow was equally impressive.

Pre-judging started off with the Pro Fitness division and as expected, Adela Garcia is in the driver’s seat after round one. Flanking Adela in the first callout was Tina Durkin and Bethany Cisternino, both bringing their best-ever physiques to the stage.

Next up came the biggest division of the Olympia, Pro Bikini. 33 darlings of the IFBB took the stage and three were left standing at the end: India Paulino, Nathalia Melo, and defending champion Nicole Nagrani. The girls were moved around more times then we could count and the judges are faced with a tough choice. Any one of them could walk away as Olympia Champion tonight. Fourth through sixth looks to be a battle between Dianna Dahlgren, Sonia Gonzalez, and Amanda Latona.

In Pro Figure, the battle royale between Nicole Wilkins and Erin Stern is as close as ever. There is little doubt they are going to place first and second, but its way to close to guess. With the Figure finals on Saturday night, these girls have over 24 hours to make the adjustments for better or worse that will decide the winner. The battle for third is no less interesting with Candice Keen, Heather Dees, Mallory Halderman, and Candice Lewis all in the mix.

Last to hit the stage was the Ms. Olympia pre-judging and it's another close contest. Iris Kyle is looking for her 9th Ms. Olympia title and Debi Laszewski is making a strong bid to knock out the champ. The ladies get re-judged tonight and even the slightest adjustments will alter the outcome.

Follow MD all day for photos and updates and check out the play-by-play tonight at 7pm for real-time results, stage photos, and interviews with all of the winners!
